| In His master plan, “the Lord has appointed the youth to be His helping hand.”—Testimonies, vol. 7, p. 64. With this instruction and others, it is imperative that the Seventh-day Adventist Church sustain a youth ministry that will: 1. lead youth to understand their individual worth and discover and develop their spiritual gifts and abilities, 2. equip and empower youth for a life of service within Christ’s church and the community, and 3. ensure the integration of youth into all aspects of church life and leadership. In the Lake Region Conference, these goals are achieved by incorporating the biblical dynamics of outreach, fellowship, nurture, worship, and mission. Opportunities for youth to come together to realize their value and learn useful skills to express their God-given gifts are offered during retreats and mission projects held each year. The Youth Department also organizes and runs the summer camp programs held at Camp Wagner in Cassopolis, Michigan. |
