Planned Giving & Trust Services

Donald Bedney
Director
The God of heaven owns all things. His followers serve as God’s stewards of multiplied blessings of time, talents, and possessions. God privileges His people to use these blessings during their lifetime for His glory by their providing for personal needs, the needs of others, and the advancement of God’s redemptive work for humanity.

Planned Giving and Trust Services enables individuals and families to give their continuing support to God’s work through trusts, wills, gift annuities, and other special gifts. The conference provides the services of an attorney to prepare the necessary documents at no charge. Family, conference, local church, academy, and local church school ministries greatly benefit from these gift plans. This specialized ministry also serves as trustee of a variety of revocable, irrevocable, and charitable trusts in addition to serving as the personal representative of probate estates that significantly benefit Seventh-day Adventist ministry in the Lake Region Conference.

An increasing number of Seventh-day Adventists are discovering the satisfaction of making tax-wise current gifts from accumulated assets. Gifts of appreciated assets such as real estate, stocks, and personal property provide tax benefits and give significant support to many ministries. Special gift plans are available that turn highly appreciated (or fully depreciated) assets into a life income and result in a future gift to God’s cause.
